BY GOOGLE.ORG
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) and
The Museum of Modern Art, New York (MoMA) join forces to
present Ruth Asawa: Retrospective, a sweeping exploration
of the pioneering artist’s extraordinary legacy. Running
from April 5 to September 2, 2025, this landmark exhibition
will be the most comprehensive survey of Asawa’s work to
date, offering a deep dive into her artistic evolution and the
inspirations that shaped her practice.
Featuring more than 300 works, including her signature
looped-wire sculptures, drawings, prints, and paintings, the
exhibition illuminates Asawa’s restless experimentation
and deep commitment to community-centered artmaking.
It further explores how her San Francisco home and
garden became an epicenter of creativity, embodying the
collaborative spirit that guided her public sculptures and
tireless arts advocacy.
