contemporary artists in la Biennale di Venezia issue THIS WORK CAN BE BUILT UP ENDLESSLY, BUT ALSO DISMANTLE WITHOUT A TRACE.
TRANSIT, 2017 SLATE AND WOOD, VARIABLE SIZE.

THE BODIES ARE MADE OF OLD ROOF TILES. THE SEASONS HAVE LEFT THEIR MARKS ON THEM.
INDIVIDUAL ROOF TILES RESEMBLE THE SILHOUETTES OF ROOFS, ESPECIALLY IF THEY FORM
            THE HEADS OF THE “BODY”.
“TO HAVE A ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD”
THIS MEANS PROTECTION AND SECURITY - A HOME. TODAY THEY GO ON TRIPS. EACH PACKED
INDIVIDUALLY IN ITS BOX, WHICH ALSO SERVES AS A PEDESTAL. ADAPTED TO CURRENT,
PRESENT-DAY NOMADISM, VOLUNTARY OR FORCED, TRAVELING WITH THE BODY, ARE ALWAYS
            READY TO LEAVE.

                               EVA DUCRET

Eva Ducret studies shape and design of the environment.
She deconstructs, reconstructs, builds new meaning and
         creates unknown relations in perception.
Her work withdraws from definite attribution and fools the
expectation of the viewer. It oscillates from association to
association and seems like ambiguous multiples.
By that, it almost seems like a metaphor for life itself.
Ducret’s work increases this impression by including
nature’s elements into its play: air/wind and water/rain are
part of the installations performance and make it spirited.
